Inspired by the lifelong dreams of lifelong skateboarders Adrian Frost, Dan Askew, and Nick Owen, ESCAPIST was established May 2000. Our goal is not only to provide Kansas City skateboarders with the best selection of skateboarding products in town, but to strengthen Kansas City skateboarding and bring national attention to it.
We are proudly the city's premier skateboarder owned, skateboard focused skateshop, offering the largest selection of skateboard decks and shoes in the entire metro area. ESCAPIST employees have several years of first hand skateboarding experience, which ensures that our customers receive knowledgeable assistance.
We live and breathe skateboarding and are here to support it, to give back what it has given so much to us, and pass it on to the next generation, not only by providing great service and selection, but by inspiring kids with events such as pro demos and signings, giving them a chance to see and meet professional skateboarders, as well as other special events such as video premieres, etc. ESCAPIST has sponsored many of these events since our inception and will sponsor many more.
