Zero & Mystery Event Update
Sorry everyone, for the complete chaos in schedule yesterday for the Zero/Mystery event. Due to off-and-on-again rain throughout the day it was simply impossible to schedule anything so we just had to barge it, and those decided to do the same were stoked cause the park dried up quickly after the team arrived and shredding commenced. Unfortunately due to the fact that the weather situation was so sketchy we'd rescheduled the Mystery video premiere only a few hours earlier to be held at River Roll at 9:30 so we had to stick to that plan even through weather might have held out long enough to still premiere the video at Penn Valley, sorry. Still not quite sure how we pulled that one off but it was so much fun. Again, we know everything was utter chaos and sorry we couldn't really give a good answer to all those on the other end of the phone that was ringing literally non-stop since 11am, as much as we wish to possess powers of predicting the future, it's simply not possible and we did the best we could...miraculously everything worked out. Thanks to those who came out and stuck it out.

Shane Cross R.I.P.
20-year-old Flip am Shane Cross was fatally injured while riding on the back of Ali Boulala's motorcycle in Australia. Flip have put together an online condolence book so everyone can leave comments and thoughts for Shane’s family and friends. Messages of sympathy and kind words are appreciated. Malto - Tampa Am 12th Place
Sean Malto placed 12th today at Tampa Am. Good job, son! (view results). Sean placed 1st out of 110 skaters in the qualifiers (view results). Skate Valley Indoor Skatepark
Heads up everyone, Skate Valley has finally reopened with a revamped set up including a 30 foot wide 5 foot high mini ramp with a 12 foot wide spine as well as a street course featuring banks, third streets, hubbas, a flat rail, a handrail and a 8 foot super tight quarter. Bored skating? Go check out the arcade for a while and grab some snacks at the concession stand or just chill on the observation deck for a while and scope out session. The Lawrence Skatepark Project is an action group comprised of skaters and bmxers from Lawrence who want to improve our community by improving our skatepark. A website has been built to help open up the lines of communication between the Lawrence City Comission and the skateboarding and bmx communities in Lawrence. Basically, Lawrence needs a new skatepark, and we think everyone should be part of the decision-making process so everyone is happy with the end result. A few weekends ago the Escapist team joined Steve Alba and Matt Dove in a demo for the grand opening event for the Penn Valley Skatepark in downtown Kansas City. Cheese and Crackers
There's a new Almost DVD coming out early this summer. Daewon and Haslam built a mini ramp inside of a warehouse with a bunch of junk. They skated it, filmed it, and the result is "Cheese and Crackers". Watch the trailer HERE for a sample of what this is all about. More New Team Video Clips
Just added new clips of Max and G-Unit. And speaking of team stuff, only a few weeks after we sent his latest footage to Enjoi, Ryan Pearce was flown out to San Jose to meet the team and go on a short tour with them...we're crossing our fingers that he comes home officially on the team...more to follow. In the words of Ryan Lovell, "I'm pretty sure that means the dude is really good."

Danny Way Bomb Drops Hard Rock
This is probably the craziest thing Danny Way has done yet...a bomb drop off the guitar of the Hard Rock Cafe into a 50 foot quarter pipe! See photos and video clips HERE. Sean Malto in Transworld Photo Book
Escapist rider Sean Malto is featured in the Transworld Skateboarding Photo Book 2006 doing a nollie kickflip down a nice sized gap. Two page spread, pages 52 and 53...check it. Sean is currently in Australia with DC...lucky.

DC Tour Footage - Sean Malto
DC just wrapped up a quick Midwest tour with DC team riders Josh Kalis, Brian Wenning, Darrell Stanton, Devine Calloway and ESCAPIST rider Sean Malto. A short film of the tour was recently released on the DC website. Look for Sean's 2 page spread in the February 06 Transworld on page 18.
